Finland's 4 seasons

Finland has four seasons, with a real winter.

Each season is its own type of beautiful, and here we want to tell you a little bit about what you should expect...

Lilac

Summer

Summer is pleasant and beautiful, especially after the long winter.

autumn

Autumn

We make the most out of the autumn, enjoying the memory of warm, before it gets dark. It's a gentle time, sometimes a little too short.

Winter

Winter is a long and dark period, but also clear and pretty. Christmas is the darkest moment; February is still cold, then it gets light again.

spring

Spring

By the time spring comes, we are glad to see light and life again.

There are two main seasons...

summer lake

Summer

Everybody enjoys the summer, especially the Fins after the long winter.

Finnish summer is never too hot, just around 25°C. Still, the water heats up and swimming in the nearby lake is a daily activity here.

Expect very long nights, at midsummer; the sun goes down at eleven, and it never really gets dark.

Winter

Usually there is varying amounts of snow from beginning of November to the end of March. Sometimes it melts, but more often it doesn't.

We only call it cold when it gets below minus 15 (and it does!).

And it gets dark, with the rare possibility to see a Borealis.
